Counselling

Counselling is a one-on-one talking therapy that involves a therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues.

Counselling is a one-on-one talking therapy that involves a therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues.

It is an open and confidential space to discuss your problems and find ways to move past them. Topics of discussion may include:

  • Addressing and resolving specific problems
  • Making decisions
  • Coping with crisis
  • Developing personal insights and knowledge
  • Working through feelings of inner conflict
  • Improving relationships with others

If counselling is the right treatment for you, you'll meet with your counsellor face-to-face or via video-platform at regular intervals to talk through any issues you may want to discuss.

Couples therapy for depression

People who are depressed often find their relationships suffer and problems in the relationship can lead to depression or anxiety.

Couples therapy can help improve the depression by reducing the kinds of things that make partners feel alone and distressed. It improves your relationship by helping you both to work together on the things that create unhappiness and to move on from unhelpful patterns of interaction.

This can lead to a happier and more fulfilling relationship in which differences between you are not so problematic.
